Wire Works Cask Strength Single Malt Whisky

Our first ever release of Wire Works cask strength single malt English whisky comprises just 293 individually numbered bottles.

We’ve chosen one of our STR casks for this bottling as this cask type is a key part of our wood program and one we believe really suits our core house style of lightly-peated single malt whisky.  STR cask number 2018 #22 was coopered from a combination of American and French oak by our long-standing partner J. Flavour

The release was bottled at 62.4% ABV and has an exceptional mouth feel with notes of crème brulee and fruit cake on the nose, with cinder toffee and marmalade on the palate, and a spicy cinnamon finish with a hint of smoke.  At cask strength the whisky will open up with water and we’d invite you to experience the flavour journey that judicious use of water will bring – everyone’s got their sweet spot!

As always, this release is non-chill filtered and has no added colour.

We’ve been grateful to receive high demand for our earlier 2022 releases, some of which sold out online in a matter of minutes. So, to try and give all our followers an equitable chance of getting hold of one of the 293 bottles, we’ve decided to make use of a ballot for bottle purchase (limited to one per person). It’s the first time we’ve sold our whisky this way, and we’re working with whisky app Bevvy to help deliver a seamless customer experience. Our friends at Bevvy are developing an amazing mobile app that allows you to scan and identify any bottle of whisky using your smartphone, find tasting notes, and pricing info alongside some interesting dram-related content.

The Bevvy team is busy building an impressive database of whisky and has created some amazing tech which is already being used by thousands of whisky lovers each week. Having seen the potential for the app we’re excited to have them as our ballot partner for this Cask Strength release of Wire Works Whisky.

If you’re interested in registering for the ballot then you’ll need to download the Bevvy app. You’ll get notifications via the app to prompt you to enter the ballot once it’s live. We will be handling all of the personal distribution to ballot winners so you can expect the same high level of customer service we’ve been focused on with all of our releases.  Good luck in the ballot!

The ballot is open from midday 30th June until midday 4th July. The outcome of the ballot will be communicated via the app from 4pm onwards on the 4th July. If you’ve been successful you will have 24 hours to check-out your bottle.
