It’s fantastic news to find ourselves shortlisted for the Peak District & Derbyshire Tourism Awards 2019!
After our first year of opening the distillery doors to the public for tours, we’re really happy to announce that we’ve been shortlisted for the “New Tourism Business” Award in this year’s Peak District & Derbyshire’s Tourism Awards!
Alongside two other fine Derbyshire businesses, myGuidedWalks and Tagg Lane Dairy, we have everything crossed for the awards evening that will take place early next year. If we make it through the regionals in the new year, we will then be on our way to the national VisitEngland Awards For Excellence 2020!
Founder, Max Vaughan said of the nomination, “So far we’ve built the business with a small team, but one that punches well above its weight because of the passion we have for what we’re doing, and I believe this comes through to all our visitors. Passion and place is really the foundation for our goal of becoming a major destination for craft spirits here in the heart of England”.
If you’d like to find out more about what we do at Derbyshire’s *first* whisky distillery then come and take a tour of the distillery to hear more about our journey since we fired up our copper stills in April 2018. When the judges mystery-shop us sometime in the run up to the awards evening, we hope that they will find our distillery to be the hidden gem that so many of our fans believe it to be already. Fingers crossed!
