We’re excited to announce that Wire Works Single Cask Whisky is back for 2023. This is only the second single cask (full strength) bottling of Wire Works Whisky since our spirit started running off the stills in 2018. We’re all another year older (maybe wiser) and have had more time to get to know our cask inventory, and the chosen one for this exclusive bottling is Cask # 18-124. 

An American oak STR cask filled in 2018 with our house-style lightly-peated spirit, matured since in our warehouse on the banks of the River Derwent in Derbyshire. This unique single cask English whisky features dark toffee and candied ginger and sultanas on the nose, smoky cereal, white pepper and liquorice on the palate, and apple pie, fizzy sweets, leather and a wisp of smoke on the finish.  

A limited edition of just 312 individually numbered bottles, bottled at a cask strength of 62.8%. Bottle price £90.00 (plus £5.95 P&P, total payable £95.95) 

To allow supporters of WPD an equitable chance of securing a bottle, we will be offering the bottle for sale via ballot. As per our previous single cask release, this will be hosted by our friends at Bevvy. Their scanning technology recognises any whisky label, allowing you to access tasting notes, value estimates, video content and personalised recommendations.

Our latest collaboration with the Bevvy team sees the launch of their augmented reality technology, which transforms the label into a video of Max (co-founder) telling the story of cask #124 and providing tasting notes for you to enjoy alongside your dram! 

How to Enter the Ballot

Get Ready 

Entry to the ballot is via the Bevvy app only. To download the app to your smartphone, search for ‘bevvy’ on the App Store/Google Play or visit bevvy.com/app and register an account. If you already have the app, download any updates to ensure you’re using the latest version. 

Set  

Subscribe to the WPD mailing list https://www.whitepeakdistillery.co.uk/sign-up/ before 9am Monday 24th April. If you’re already subscribed and you’ve downloaded the latest version of the Bevvy app on your smartphone, you’re all set to go.

Go 

Ballot Live Monday 24th April 12 Noon  

• Mailing List: We’ll e-mail you with a unique link to the ballot. Using your smartphone follow the link, look for the WPD ballot banner at the top of the homepage, and confirm your entry, payment details and acceptance of T&C’s. Bevvy will send you confirmation of your entry via the app and e-mail.
• Social Media: You can enter via links on social media, however, if you are on our mailing list, we strongly advise you enter via your unique e-mail link.
• Already have the Bevvy app? Look for the WPD ballot banner at the top of the homepage once the ballot is live.

The ballot closes on Wednesday 26th April at 12 noon. Successful entrants will be notified by Bevvy via the app and e-mail, and payment will be taken by approximately 7pm. Make sure you’ve enabled notifications to hear if you’ve been successful.  

Following the above steps will maximise your chances of successful entry, and you’ll be one step closer to achieving your single cask goals. Finally, a heads-up, let’s keep this race fair – duplicate entries will be removed from the ballot. Please only enter once.
