Getting to White Peak Distillery is simple because of multiple travel options available. Whether you’re driving, cycling, or using public transport, you’ll find us easily accessible:

• By Car: We are just a short drive from major nearby towns and cities, including Derby (30 minutes), Nottingham (45 minutes), and Sheffield (50 minutes). Free parking is available on-site.
• By Train: The nearest train station is Ambergate Station, a leisurely scenic 20-minute walk from the distillery.
• By Bus: Regular bus services connect nearby towns, the closest stop being Oak Hurst and there are other stops within walking distance of the site.
• By Bike or On Foot: Located in the heart of a beautiful valley we’re easily reachable via walking and cycling routes, making for a great day out.

White Peak Distillery’s home has a fascinating past. Built in the 19th century, the Johnson & Nephew Wire Works was once a thriving industrial hub producing high quality wire products. While the factory has long since closed, many of the original buildings remain lending an atmospheric charm to the distillery. Today, we take pride in continuing the site’s tradition of craftsmanship, now in the form of our Wire Works Whisky, Shining Cliff Gin and White Peak Rum.

When you visit White Peak Distillery, there’s plenty to explore beyond our whisky, rum and gin. The Wire Works site is home to other independent businesses, offering a fantastic day out. You’ll find The Great British Car Museum, Drive Dad’s Car, E-Bike Tours, and scenic walking routes that showcase the natural beauty of the Derwent Valley. Whether you want to take in some history, enjoy a leisurely stroll, or simply soak up the atmosphere, there’s something for everyone.
