The Peak District and Derbyshire, our Distillery homeland, is brimming with innovative makers and creatives. We’ve put together this guide showcasing some of the best local gifts, some of which we stock in our Distillery shop.
Buird Pottery
Buird pottery is hand thrown in Wirksworth by Graeme and Inga, just up the road from the Distillery. After being thrown, they are left to dry, bisque fired, glazed and then put through their second firing to vitrify the glaze. We stock their mugs in our Distillery shop. The Wirksworth Pottery Company
Wirksworth-based ceramicist, Hannah, creates beautiful vases, mugs and more. We stock her unique speckled tumblers, coasters and more in the shop. The tumblers are perfect for a hot whisky toddy! You can also find Hannah’s ceramics online here.
Denby Pottery
Denby, the nationwide household name in stoneware, is based just a few miles from the Distillery. Explore these thoughtful gift ideas, treat someone to an experience, or head to the Pottery Village to browse for the perfect gift. Denby is hosting a Christmas Market on the 2nd – 4th December and 9th – 11th December.
Dark Woods Coffee
When we tasted the Dark Woods Common Grounds Barrel Aged Coffee, we knew we wanted to stock it in our shop. This distinctive coffee is aged in Bourbon barrels and has notes of vanilla, dried fruits and milk chocolate. The coffee is roasted by hand on a 1950’s Probat drum roaster in a beautifully refurbished Victorian textile mill beside the Huddersfield Narrow Canal and River Colne – so we’ve got a few things in common! Oil Can Grooming
Oil Can Grooming is a Derbyshire-based family business established in 2014. Founders Craig, Faye and John found a gap in the market for distinctive grooming products at a time when there was a growing revival of traditional barbering.
Their range has grown to comprise beard and shave oils and a variety of hair styling pomades and products alongside leather goods and apparel. The Angels’ Share range of products takes inspiration from the world of whisky, with a Beard Oil fragrance reminiscent of American Oak & Citrus. Quality and a balance of innovation with tradition, are at the heart of Oil Can’s ethos, much like ours. We stock the beard and shave oils, as well as the hair pomades in our Distillery shop.
Kit Change
A Derbyshire-based brand with a stylish, sustainable range of women’s activewear run by our friends Emily and Vicky. They use the best quality recycled or earth-friendly fabrics they can find, and the clothes are well thought out, fit for purpose and long lasting. We think the UK-made recycled tube scarf would make a great gift for anybody.
Lumsdale Glass
Jonathan Abbott hand blows amazing glassware in the Lumsdale Valley. Jonathan’s work includes beautiful glass baubles for the Christmas tree, colourful vases and tableware, and candle holders. All of our spirits are distilled, matured, bottled and labelled at White Peak Distillery in Ambergate – gifting our spirits is giving a true taste of Derbyshire.
Browse Wire Works Whisky, Shining Cliff Gin, our Derbyshire Cask Aged Rum and more online 24/7, or pop into our Distillery shop. We are open Monday-Saturday 11am-5pm. We close at 4pm on Fridays.
