We’ll be kicking of this year’s Whisky In The Woods schedule of events with an intimate and laid-back evening hosted by Founder Max Vaughan and Distillery Manager Dave Symes. An evening all about sharing whisky in good company. We’ll gather to enjoy six outstanding drams, shared boards of artisanal meats and cheeses and good conversation. The drams have been carefully curated from our existing and upcoming whisky releases, alongside some cask samples. Featuring yet to be released Wire Works Special Waters and a dram from one of our oldest ‘Local Barley’ casks.
The Line-Up
Wire Works Caduro
CORE lightly-peated single malt, bourbon and STR Cask (re-charred red wine cask) maturation. A core favourite.
Wire Works Bourbon Barrel
CORE lightly-peated single malt, ex-bourbon barrel only maturation, shining a light on our distillery character. Winner of the ‘Best Single Malt English Whisky’ in the English Whisky Awards 2024, and voted Peoples Choice in the Online Scotch Whisky Awards (OSWA’s) Best World Whisky category.
English Blended Whisky*
EXCLUSIVE BLEND we’re excited to preview this first English Blend to hit the market. All details embargoed until April.
Wire Works Special Waters*
DISTILLERY EXCLUSIVE limited-edition single malt dialled-up with ‘Special Waters’. Find out the story behind the process, and an opportunity to discuss flavour and texture.
Wire Works Tawny Port
CASK STRENGTH full maturation Tawny Port (19-225) cask filled August 2019. A staff favourite pick, from some of our oldest parcels of casks. Available on distillery hand-fill.
Wire Works Local Barley
CASK SAMPLE un-peated Derbyshire single malt. We’ll be sharing a sample from one of our local barley casks. This will be our first un-peated whisky, and 100% Derbyshire provenance.
*A limited amount of stock will be available to buy on the night.
The event will be hosted in our cosy tasting room complete with a private bar. Limited to just 18 guests, this special event promises to be a relaxed experience for those who appreciate good whisky and conversation.
